The Coaching staff at Ysleta High School, along with the help from other local high school coaches and former players, are getting ready to kick off the 2nd Annual "ALL-IN" Basketball Camp. This camp was born out of the desire to equip young athletes with basic skills that will help them accomplish their dreams. The goal is to lay a solid foundation that each athlete can build upon in the years to come. There will be a focus on teaching the FUNDAMENTALS and techniques of ball handling, passing, shooting, defense and good sportsmanship.

Coach Celaya graduated from Irvin High School in 1990 where he was an All- District and All -City player in basketball. He then graduated from Sul Ross State in 1996 and was a 4 year letterman and captain of the basketball team. He then had the opportunity to play professionally in Mexico where he helped lead the team to win the CIMEBA Championship in 1998 with Santos de San Luis Postosi. Coach Celaya was the Head Boys Basketball Coach at San Elizario High School from 2003-2008 and Head Boys Basketball Coach at Bowie High School from 2010-2014. During his time at Bowie HS his team won a District Championship in 2010 and won Bi-District in 2010-2013.
Coach Puente was named Ysleta Head
Basketball Coach in March 2016. Coach Puente
has made an impact at every school he has been at. He was part of turning around several different programs. Coach Puente got his coaching start at El Dorado High School in 2007. In his time there, he led his freshman and JV teams to district championships and help guide the varsity team to a Sweet 16 appearance in 2009. After EDHS he became a varsity assistant coach at Cathedral High School and helped the team get back into the playoffs after an 8 year absence. They were also voted the #1 team in the city by the El Paso Times in 2010. He then landed at Burges High where he helped coach the team to winning a district championship, and area championship and making 3 straight playoff appearances. In its inaugural season, Coach Puente then led Pebble Hills boys basketball team to a district championship with an overall record of 21-3, and a district record of 13-1. Coach Puente is a graduate of Bel Air High School where as a player, he helped his team win several district championships. After high school Coach Puente attended Clarendon Junior College, followed by Western New Mexico University where he served as a student
assistant coach and received his Bachelors degree.

Coach Castro is a graduate of Eastwood High School where as a sophomore he was the "All-City newcomer of the year." His junior year he was "First Team All-District" and "First Team All-City", and as a senior was "First Team All-District", "First Team All City" and unamiously voted District MVP and All City MVP. Following high school, Castro earned a scholarship to St. Mary's University where he played for three years. There, he was a starter and had mulitple double digit and 20+ point performances. While at St. Mary's University, his most memorable moment was when he hit a last second shot to beat the top ranked team in the conference. Next, Castro transfered to Our Lady of the Lake University on a full scholarship where unfortunately he would be out for part of the season due to an injury. Determined to overcome every obstacle he pushed through and worked hard to make his way back to the starting line-up. Castro graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University in May2015.
