coach Dallas PUente


Coach Puente was named Ysleta Head Basketball Coach in March 2016.  Coach Puente has made an impact at every school he has been at. He was part of turning around several different programs. Coach Puente got his coaching start at El Dorado High School in 2007. In his time there, he led his freshman and JV teams to district championships and help guide the varsity team to a Sweet 16 appearance in 2009. After EDHS he became a varsity assistant coach at Cathedral High School and helped the team get back into the playoffs after an 8 year absence. They were also voted the #1 team in the city by the El Paso Times in 2010. He then landed at Burges High where he helped coach the team to

 to winning a district championship, and area championship and making 3 straight playoff appearances. In its inaugural season, Coach Puente then led Pebble Hills boys basketball team to a district championship with an overall record of 21-3, and a district record of 13-1. Coach Puente is a graduate of Bel Air High School where as a player, he helped his team win several district championships. After high school Coach Puente attended Clarendon Junior College, followed by Western New Mexico University where he served as a student assistant coach and received his Bachelors degree. Coach Puente has made an impact in the places he has been at and will continue to impact student-athletes in a positive way. 



Coach Sariñana was born and raised in El Paso, Texas where he was a star athlete throughout his middle and high school years. In 2008, he helped lead Eastwood High to a district title. The Troopers went 18-0 in district play and continued on to the state playoffs. After graduating high school, Coach Sariñana went on to attend the University of Texas at El Paso to study Kinesiology. Today he is excited to contribute to the Indians coaching staff where he is seeking to claim a district title.



Coach Sapien graduated from Eastwood High School in 2009 where he helped lead the Troopers to a district title in 2008. Sapien played at the highest level of AAU basketball while attending multiple national tournaments across the nation. Upon graduating from the University of Texas at El Paso with honors, Coach Sapien led Rio Bravo Middle School as head basketball coach to 4 district championships in 5 years. Sapien is excited to teach current YHS student-athletes to take care of the program, uphold its standards, and defend its beliefs by giving 100% on and off the court.
